P2011 ft. worth

God provided a way for
me to go to the Passion Conference in Ft. Worth on Friday-Sunday.
It was really encouraging to see 10,000+ people gathered
to worship God. I went with no idea of what God was going to teach me.
But little did I know, God wasn't going to strike me
with lightening, but He was going to show me something
very special and very vital to my
Christians walk.

I saw the beautiful picture of Jesus as a
servant. He gave up being served by angels in heaven to come and serve man, to
wash Peter's feet, to help the sick, so that we can have a beautiful
relationship with Him. And now I have a new desire
to serve Him, even if that means dirty work for forgotten people. Jesus did the job of a
slave (washing Peter's feet), so how could I
choose to only do "important" work for God when He
came and served us in what we would call
"unimportant ways". But, that's what drew people to Him, and
that's what will draw people today--seeing
Christians serving others.

So, I went with some young people from our church, and these are a
few of my favorite shots.

It was so cool when 10,000+ people poured in and
out of the convention center. However, it was a little difficult trying to get into
one of the ten surrounding restaurants.

The Chris Tomlin!

These went to the homeless people in around Ft. Worth.

College students lined up for hours in the Do Something Now Center to
give to Bible translation and missions in Mali, Africa.
More than 10,000 people gave
over $225,000! Only God could do that!

After the main sessions, there were breakout sessions. We were
separated into color groups. This is the awesome LIME community group!!!

And then inside the community groups, we have family groups! These
are the ones who are praying for each other, challenging
each other, and encouraging each other to keep
running the race that Paul talks about.

I love you guys!

God did a lot in the hearts of a lot of people. A lot
of people saw that they were in need of a Savior after John Piper spoke
Saturday night. God was there that night!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOREVER, AND EVER, AND EVER!

Beautiful Rose

This is just a random picture I took last week. I pulled
this rose out of a Valentine's arrangement my dad gave to my mom.
In the vase, there were a dozen dried out, dirty looking roses, but I dug around
and came across this one. I love this rose! I'll keep it as long as it remains in one piece!

It reminds me of what Jesus did for me. He picked me, a dried up rose that
would appear worthless to many people, and made me His prized possession.
The only difference is that when I let Him pull me out
of that vase, He gave me new, everlasting life. I became healthy and very much
alive. There are no brown stains on me anymore; He
took my filthiness and put it on Himself at the cross, and He placed on me His righteousness!
That just boggles my mind!

Hayden {Senior Portraits}

Hey y'all! This is Hayden. He's a 2011 graduate! Woo hoo! Hayden
is fun to be around. And, he is super photogenic! (He said he practiced posing in the mirror.) :)

Hayden hopes to go to the Fire Academy at
Collin College. Congrats, Hayden, on your graduation!!!

You probably noticed how I've edited these pictures. They have a vintage
feel, yet they are high-contrast. I really like this style! :D  What
do you think? I'd love to get a comment from you!

Josh

Today, Josh discovered that he is going to Journey to the Heart in three days! He needed a profile picture to send in . . . it's so convenient to have a sister who's a photographer. ;)

This is Josh. He is caring. He is a fun brother who always keeps a laugh in every conversation. He quotes Geico and Allstate commercials non-stop; he's always asking if Geico could save us 15% or more on car insurance. :) It makes everybody laugh. He finishes high school around Christmas, and he would like to study meteorology at OU.

I'm so excited for him, leaving home and all (for 10 days). :)  I cant wait to hear all about it!

Spring, Spring, Spring

I love springtime in Texas. Everything is green, there are monster thunderstorms, and it's warm! Yesterday, I jumped out of the truck, leaving my dad and brother and sisters, to get a picture of this tree. It's a popular tree, but that's something that is cool about photography: With one tree, you can have a ton of unique pictures with different feels, looks and styles because of creative angles, lighting, etc. So, you've probably already seen pictures of this tree on other photographers' blogs, but this one hopefully looks a little different. :)
