I Love: {Photographer Friends}

Last week, I was
talking with the Koehn girls
(Carissa and Hannah), who are also
photographers, about how we needed to get together and
do a photo shoot.
After all, we live so close to each other,
but we all were so busy.

After much brainstorming, we finally
came up with an evening
on which we all
were free!

We had an
awesome shoot. First, we went
to a field covered in wildflowers. Then
we went and grabbed a
snow cone. (Delicious!) And last
but not least, we went
to a field with hay
bales. Yeehaw!

Meet Carissa and Hannah Koehn
(pronounced kane)........

.......And their babies, Thing 1 and Thing 2. :)

And, you know the model in this
picture--Grace.

I'm so glad
that Carissa and Hannah knew
about this awesome hay field!
I wish the sun would've stood still forever!
But, if it did, I wouldn't be
writing this blog post. :) I'd still
be out there taking pictures.
So, I guess it's good that the sun went
down after all. :P

Sisters - Chocolate Chips of Life

It was such a gorgeous
evening last night that I grabbed my
sister Grace (you've met her a few times) and my
camera Jack. We took
a walk to this little field that was covered
in wildflowers. (She actually took more pictures of me than I did of her
because she likes using Jack.)
But, I decided to make this a sister post! :) So, I'm going to
give you some sweet sister quotes. :)

"Sisters are blossoms in the garden of life." ~Author Unknown

"What's the good of news if you haven't a sister to share it? ~Jenny DeVries

"A sister smiles when one tells one's story - for she knows
where the decoration has been added." ~Chris Montaigne

"A sister can be seen as someone who is both ourselves
and very much not ourselves - a special kind of double." ~Toni Morrison

"Sisters are different flowers from the same garden." ~Author Unknown

"When sisters stand shoulder to shoulder, who stands a chance against us." ~Pam Brown

"Sister to sister we will always be,
A couple of nuts off the family tree."
~Author Unknown

"It's hard to be responsible, adult and sensible all the time. How good is it to have a sister who's heart is as young as your own heart." ~Pam Brown

"[A sister] helps one remain half woman, half child." ~Author Unknown

"A perfect sister I am not, but thankful for the one I've got." (Correction:
the many I've got.) :)

And, my FAVORITE QUOTE:
"In the cookies of life, sisters are the chocolate chips." ~Author Unknown
Isn't that cute!!??

I hope you enjoyed these quotes and pictures.
The truth is, friends will come and go, but sisters will always
be there.

New Creation

Hey, all. It has been a while
since I have done a blog post with a special story
behind it. This post is really no different. I was organizing my camera
bag, and whenever that happens I just
can't resist taking some random pictures.

So, I noticed
my sister's journal sitting out. She was given
this journal a few weeks ago by a sweet
lady from our church while she was in the hospital for asthma.
As I was trying to come up with creative angles,
the words New Creation kept
sticking out. I love the verse II Corinthians 5:17
(below the picture), and every
time I read it, I hear the voice of the pastor
on Flywheel, the movie. So,
that was my inspiration for this collage (not
the pastor's voice, but the words
New Creation). Lol. :)

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creation. The old has passed away;
behold, the new has come."

Kiah

This last week has been totally
crazy! The week before last, my family and I were
at Regional Conference in Big Sandy. It
was awesome! I had the opportunity to
serve on the core staff for
a program that lasted for the week, which
included girls ages 8-12. It was
a new experience for
me, but it was a lot of fun!

So, we got home on Saturday (not this one,
but the one before last), and then on Sunday my little sister Hannah
woke up with bad asthma. To make a long story short,
she ended up in ICU for like four days
and the regular floor for two. So, I was "mom" for the week. :)
That's okay. Seriously, I enjoyed the challenge!
I also had some bonding time with some of my siblings.
(Mom, I know you're reading
this. I enjoy it once in a while.) ;)
Actually, I'd already been "mom" for two weekends
this year!

Soooo, to end a not-so-good
week better, Hannah and Mom came home on Friday. (Yippee!!!)
Then, we had a big Mother's Day day
for Mom. All that to say, I haven't had much time
to take pictures!

But, I did find time to do a
quick portrait for my brother who needed a journey pic.
That's right! He's going to Journey!!! And it
looks like I may going up to Chicago
with him! I may get to work on staff for the
summer and early fall!

So, here's Kenaniah, or Kiah for short.

Kiah's a lot of fun! He loves to
laugh and make others laugh! (He is a great
Don Knotts impersonator!)

You're probably a little curious about the name.
Kenaniah in the Bible was a high priest. When David was carrying
the Arch of the Covenant back to Jerusalem,
Kenaniah (Chenaniah in Hebrew)
was chosen to lead the group of musicians and singers.
I think that must have been a really
cool role! But the name Kenaniah means
"God has established". Isn't that so
fitting for his role in the Bible!? I can't wait to see how
God's going to use Kiah!

Mendoza {Family Portraits}

I had a great time
taking pictures for the really sweet
Mendoza family! Raul and Leslie have little
Madison, and little Raul is
on the way. :)

I'm looking forward to
doing Leslie's maternity pictures
